ravello festival

The Amalfi Coast as the setting for one of the most important Festivals, known and appreciated all over the world: the Ravello Festival returns. From Saturday 30 June, North and South of Europe meet on the Belvedere of Villa Rufolo to open the dances.

Wagner will be opening this edition of the Ravello Festival where inspiration and spirit of the place are perfectly combined in a scenario that will host the world’s greatest artists. It is on this occasion that the master Esa-Pekka Salonen will pay homage to heaven and sea by conducting the Philharmonic Orchestra and will celebrate his sixtieth birthday on the stage.

This year’s program is among the richest, after the results of 2017, the Ravello Festival could not help but improve further, imposing itself as a festival in which art, in all its forms, triumphs. It is not by chance that we at PrintLitoArt fully embrace the founding principles of this Festival so much so as to be its first supporters as well as official sponsor.

The adventure of the 66th edition of the Ravello Festival opens the doors to two months of shows, entertainment, mental and spiritual elevation aimed at offering its audience the best of the world scene: great international orchestras, acclaimed conductors, historical names of authors and choreographers . There will also be no lack of ballet companies and timeless icons on the artistic scene.

The contamination between different genres is a must, as is excellence and special productions that have always been inspired by the great themes like “Tristan and Isolde” (1865) that will characterize the entire Festival.

In the program the opening refers precisely to the Prelude of the work for a path that binds with a symbolic continuity to the conclusion of the work: Isotta’s Death of Love. They will be the voices of Michelle DeYoung and James Rutherford, respectively soprano and baritone, that will animate with their debut the City of Music.

The days to follow will be characterized by as many prominent figures, geniuses of excellence in visual arts. It will be up to Bill T. Jones / Arnie Zane Company, to Wayne McGregor and his company, Ivan Lins, Dada Masilo, the conductor Myung-Whun Chung, Tiagran Hamasyan, Kurt Elling Quintest, Django Bates’ Belovèd; at Le Cercle de L’Harmonie, orchestra conducted by Jérémie Rhorer and the National Orchestra of Italian Conservatories, whose conductor will be Alexander Lonquich. All will follow each other on the stages set up in the beautiful Ravello.

It does not end here! The ballet of Moscow and the ballet of St. Petersburg will flock, together with Paolo Fresu and Daniele di Bonaventura, the last evenings of July for an even richer and more intriguing August.

Bell Frisell Quarted, Petra Haden and the Teatro alla Scala soloists will be the setting for Wednesday 1 August and Saturday 4. Tracking then of “The Midnight concerts” with the extraordinary pianists and the fantastic orchestras, still among the most famous in the world, at resound in the ecstatic places of the coast, up to the very famous and characteristic “Concerto all’Alba” with the “Giuseppe Verdi” Salernitan Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Ryan McAdams.

What else? The Ravello Festival is an inimitable panorama not only for the place that hosts it but, above all, for the clear hymn to the profound beauty of art. We of PrintLitoArt, as lovers and fine researchers of the art itself, we could not miss this exciting initiative to praise and promote art in all its forms.
