Vincenzo Vavuso is an artist living in Salerno, painter and sculptor.
In addition to the lessons of the masters of art, it has been stimulated and inspired by the exciting visual impact with the Amalfi Coast and the extraordinary landscapes that surround the Salernitano. Also for this reason his first love was for the figurative and landscape painting of the 19th century and for the avant-garde movements of the early twentieth century.
The fruits of his research were then collected in the volume La pittura: the expression of ourselves (Ed. Terra del Sole, 2013).
At the same time, Vavuso has concretized the transit to a new artistic language, which initially focuses on the production of figurative works, then on informal works with strong material elements and with naturalistic and / or cosmic representations, which narrate the lyrical loss of man in the Whole.
Finally he made the choice of realistic-conceptual Art field, with a commitment that combines aesthetic and social needs and at the same time never loses sight of the potential for communication.
This is how the Rabbia e Silenzio (Anger and Silence, in English) cycle was born, largely focused on chromostructures and paints with a realistic flavor, with a strong and provocative message.
His works are permanently placed in museums, institutions and important private collections.
The M.A.R.I.C (Artistic Movement for the Recovery of Cultural Identities), is a cultural artistic movement that involves painters, sculptors, writers, poets, musicians, performers, actors, photographers and other creative figures.
The works, documents and initiatives that the Movement will produce will have as a common thread the controversy against Indifference and Ignorance, which in these dark times seem to envelop Art, Reading, Literature, Culture and the promotion of the values that they can express .
Recently, still in the name of the MARIC, Vavuso has opened two other fronts of considerable scope: the coloring of art of urban furnishings in the town of Curti (Caserta) and the permanent exhibition of works of art in the halls of honor of prestigious Tenuta San Domenico (Sant’Angelo in Formis – Caserta).
